In this special workshop with Chilean multi-instrumentalist Yuri Betancourt, you are invited to step into a world where music is not about rules, theory, or perfection - but about expression, intuition, and connection. From the moment he first picked up an instrument at age 11, Yuri’s relationship with music has been one of passion and freedom. Having spent decades immersed in London’s vibrant underground scene, and now sharing his gifts along the South Coast, Yuri brings with him a lifetime of experience and an open-hearted approach to sound. His music, rooted in the spirit of South America, combines strings and flutes such as the charango, guitar, bass, quena, and moseño, creating soundscapes that are rich, soulful, and alive. This workshop is a chance to explore those traditions while also discovering your own unique musical voice. Together, we will: Learn to play and listen from the heart rather than the head. Experience the soulful sounds of Andean instruments and understand their cultural significance. Share songs and rhythms in a circle of connection, where everyone’s contribution is valued. Experiment with improvisation and intuitive playing, even if you’ve never studied music before. Explore how music can be a healing and unifying force. Whether you are an experienced musician or a complete beginner, you’ll find a welcoming and inspiring environment.
