The Story of
Veena and the Moon

Veena and the Moon Studio was born from a sacred journey  that began high in the Himalayas, where the stillness of the mountains meets the inner silence of the heart.

It was there, during my yoga teacher training, that I received the name Veena. Not chosen, but given.

A name echoing the sacred instrument of Goddess Saraswati, the divine force of music, knowledge, poetry, creativity, and intuitive wisdom. The Veena is not just an instrument — it is a vessel of vibration, of harmony, of devotion. It reminded me that when we express from the heart, we awaken something sacred — in ourselves and in others.

At the same time, I was deeply drawn to the symbolism of the Moon — especially the full moon, which speaks to completion, illumination, surrender, and the beautiful, ever-changing cycles of life. The moon teaches us that we are allowed to ebb and flow. To shine, to retreat, to begin again. It reflects our inner truth — always whole, even when it feels hidden.

Together, Veena and the Moon represent a union of sacred sound and lunar wisdom, of intuition and rhythm, of creative flow and soul alignment. One vibrates through the heart. The other lights the way.

🌙 Mission of Veena & the Moon 🌙

At Veena and the Moon Studio, our mission is to create a nurturing and inclusive space where individuals can reconnect with themselves, cultivate inner balance, and embrace holistic well-being. Through yoga, breathwork, sound healing, cacao ceremonies, and wellness workshops, we aim to support the community in finding moments of stillness, healing, and empowerment.

We believe in the power of connection — to the body, to nature, to others, and to the cycles of the moon — and we honour the importance of creating space for both personal growth and shared experiences. Our studio also offers opportunities for teachers and therapists to share their gifts, and a wellness shop to support mindful living.

Above all, Veena and the Moon Studio exists to inspire a deeper relationship with the self through movement, breath, ritual, and heart-centred practices.

🌙 Vision of Veena and the Moon  🌙

The vision of Veena and the Moon Studio is to become a recognised sanctuary for holistic well-being, conscious living, and community connection in Bexhill and beyond. We aspire to create a space where people of all backgrounds feel welcome to explore the practices that nourish their body, mind, and spirit — from yoga and meditation to sound healing, cacao ceremonies, and feminine energy work.

Our vision is to foster a community where individuals can rediscover their inner strength, embrace self-love, and live in harmony with the natural cycles of life. We aim to inspire positive transformation through meaningful experiences, deepen connections between people, and support practitioners and therapists by providing a platform to share their healing work.

Ultimately, Veena and the Moon Studio envisions a world where wellness is accessible, authentic, and rooted in compassion — helping individuals lead more balanced, empowered, and joyful lives.

Meet Karolina

Also known as the woman who swapped hospitality’s chaos

for yoga, cacao and stretchy pants.

Once upon a time, I was living the high-stress, fast-paced life of a hospitality manager in London, running restaurants, juggling wine lists, and surviving the wild world of celebrity chef. Yes, I spent over six years working for one of those fiery Spanish culinary genius you’ve definitely seen on Saturdays Kitchen on TV. For more than 17 years, I thrived in the chaos of the industry,  but my neck, shoulders, and nervous system were telling me a very different story.

In 2017, I found my way (stiffly and skeptically) onto a yoga mat. My body was aching, my stress levels were sky-high, and my spine resembled a question mark. But something shifted. Slowly, I softened, breathed deeper, moved better. I’d lost 10kg without dieting, simply by falling in love with movement and myself again. I remember sitting in those London yoga classes thinking, “One day, I want to be the one at the front, guiding this.”

In 2019, I swapped wine lists for wish lists: I quit my job, packed my bags, and flew to the Himalayas to train as a Sivananda yoga teacher. (Spoiler: I didn’t reach enlightenment, but I did reach my toes in a forward fold.)

Back home, I added pregnancy yoga to my toolkit, because I wanted to support women through every season of life. I briefly returned to hospitality (because old habits die hard), but I knew deep down my time there was done.

In 2020, life gave me a big nudge. I got pregnant, bought a flat in Bexhill, and started building something new. Hospitality? Out. Family, yoga, community? In. Slowly, I built my classes, my confidence, and my people. I trained in Hypnobirthing and began blending it with pregnancy yoga.

Somewhere in the middle of all this, I felt a pull towards the moon. I started offering Full Moon Yoga & Cacao Ceremonies  even though at first, I was terrified. I wondered, Who am I to do this? But the call of the moon, the rituals, the gathering of people… it was louder than my insecurities. Over time, these gatherings have become something sacred. Spaces where people soften, connect, and find a little more light in their lives.

In 2023, I ran my first yoga retreat. Something I once thought was only for “proper yoga teachers” (whatever that means). It was beautiful, transformative, and absolutely worth the leap. In 2024, I ran my second retreat. More hearts, more healing, more proof I was on the right path. And now, in 2025, my third retreat is already in the works.

Now, four years on, I’m thriving. I’ve added Cacao Ceremony Facilitation, Face Yoga, and Yoga Nidra to my offerings. My Full Moon classes are some of the most joyful and transformative things I do as they bring people together, help shift perspectives, and remind us all of something ancient and beautiful.

And now? It’s time for the next chapter:
I’m opening my very own studio: Veena & The Moon — a space for grounding, connection, ritual, and well-being. Bexhill deserves this. I deserve this. My little boy deserves to see his mum following her heart.

The timing? Perfect. The signs? Clear. The universe? Obviously cheering me on.

And me? I’m ready.
