RETURNING TO THE ROOTS OF YOGA
A Sivananda Tradition Masterclass
Service Description
After spending a full month in the Himalayas, immersed in the Sivananda tradition and its teachings, I returned to the UK with a deep realisation, that the original meaning and purpose of yoga is often lost or misunderstood in modern practice. This masterclass is offered exactly as I learned it in India, with simplicity, depth, and respect for the tradition. It is an invitation to experience yoga through a different lens, and to understand why and how yoga works as a complete system for the body, breath, mind, and way of life. This kind of teaching is rarely found outside ashrams and Sivananda centres, and I haven’t seen anything quite like it offered elsewhere locally. If you’re curious about yoga beyond trends and workouts, and would like to experience it in a more authentic, grounded way this masterclass is for you. A slow, nourishing 3-hour immersion into yoga as it was originally taught, beyond speed, performance, and modern interpretations. This masterclass explores: ✨ What yoga truly is, its original aim, and the benefits it offers for the body, breath, nervous system and mind ✨ The Five Points of Yoga in the Sivananda tradition: Asana • Pranayama • Proper Relaxation • Proper Diet • Meditation ✨ The Four Paths of Yoga (Karma, Bhakti, Raja and Jnana) and how they naturally weave into everyday life ✨ Sadhana - what daily practice really means, and how to keep yoga alive beyond the mat You will experience: ✨ A clear, accessible talk on traditional yoga philosophy and its relevance today ✨ An introduction to pranayama and its benefits ✨ A gentle, slow Sivananda-style asana practice ✨ Deep guided relaxation and meditation ✨ Time for reflection, questions and integration This is not a workout or a teacher training. It is an invitation to slow down, understand the practice, and experience yoga as a complete system for health, balance and clarity. 🫖 Tea, light snacks & printed handouts included ✨ Included in Moon and Restore Membership (Booking required – limited spaces)
